About Us
Leichhardt Wanderers has been part of the Inner West community since 1911, when the original club was founded - now recognised as the oldest continuously operating junior league club in Australia.
Netball joined the Wanderers family in 2009, when the former unincorporated Leichhardt Wanderers Netball Club began with just two teams. With the support of dedicated volunteers, the club grew rapidly over the next 15 years, reaching 64 teams by 2023 and becoming the largest netball club in Sydney’s Inner West.
In December 2023, the Club formalised its structure by establishing Leichhardt Wanderers Netball Club Inc (LWNC Inc) ensuring strong governance and long‑term sustainability for our players, volunteers, and community. At the same time, a formal affiliation agreement was signed with the Leichhardt Wanderers Junior Rugby League & Cricket Club Inc, strengthening our shared history and community connection.
